WAOH will kick off its “Living Courageously” webinar series for 2026 with a special collaboration with Justice Defenders, an organization dedicated to dismantling inequitable justice systems and providing free legal education, training, and practice within prison communities.

This webinar will explore how access to legal education and justice tools inside prison systems can protect human dignity and transform communities. By spotlighting Justice Defenders’ model of training incarcerated people and prison staff as paralegals and lawyers, the session will demonstrate how legal empowerment strengthens communities facing marginalization and injustice.

We aim to equip participants worldwide with legal empowerment tools rooted in the Justice Defenders’ model, which can be adapted to support local justice efforts, advocate for dignity within carceral systems, and strengthen community understanding of human rights.
